We meet everyone at the Belize International Airport and drive to our first destination, Mama Noot's Backabush Lodge, where we'll spend our first 3 nights. We'll then transfer to Hidden Valley Inn, where we'll stay the next 2 nights. We''l complete the tour with 2 nights at Bird's Eye View Lodge at Crooked Tree.

MAMA NOOT'S BACKABUSH LODGE

Mama Noot's Backabush Lodge is the only lodge located within Mayflower Bocawina National Park in the Sittee River area of Central Belize. It offers a full bar and restaurant facility on the premises, with windows on every wall looking out over the surrounding jungle. The food is simply excellent. Four towers nearby allow easy viewing of canopy birds in the forest. The lodge is operated on a combination of solar, wind, and micro-hydro generated power. There is internet access from the main lodge area. Rooms are in private bungalows with thatched roofs. They include comfortable beds, private bath, and hot-water showers. TOP

HIDDEN VALLEY INN

An extensive network of trails and several waterfalls exist on the property, including King Vulture Falls where endangered Orange-breasted Falcons are best seen. The property also features a swimming pool and outdoor jacuzzi adjacent to the main reception hall.

Our hosts make everyone feel instantly at ease with their personal touch. Breakfasts are served buffet-style, while dinners are sit-down meals featuring white linens, excellent service, and a choice of entrees off a menu. The lodge features a full bar with cold beer, wine, and mixed drinks. The fine ambiance and friendly atmosphere are a treat after full day's of birding activity.

Rooms are very comfortable, featuring queen-size beds, private bath, hot water, and both bath and showers. Rooms are nicely furnished and have a stuffed chair along with a fireplace for the comfort of guests. TOP

 

BIRD'S EYE VIEW LODGE

A large, comfortable garden with thatched umbrellas and chairs are ideal for watching birds on the lagoon, sunbathing, eating or relaxing. An open-air bar area on the second floor of the lodge is also available where guests can relax with one another over drinks on breezy, tropical evenings. A recreation area inside the lodge provides televisions and VCR's for guest enjoyment. The lodge restaurant offers a variety of Belizean and international cuisine. Rooms are available in single or double occupancy. Each room features comfortable beds and private bath with hot water showers. TOP
