ABOUT THE BIRDING
Lagunas de Chiriqui is on private property at a middle elevation site in western Panama. It consists of forest patches and several small lagoons surrounded by marshes. It's a good place to look for Masked Duck and Chiriqui Yellowthroat around the lagoons and several specialty forest birds including Pale-breasted Spinetail. The rare and local Black-breasted Wood-Quail is possible but difficult to see.
LOCATION OF SITE
Lagunas de Chiriqui is reached by driving west from Volcan along Ruta Sereno Rio and then south along El Valle Road.
